You may have heard the song “Without You”, sung by pop superstar Usher.  And you may also have heard the popular song “Turn Me On”, with lyrics by the much-loved female rap artist, Nicki Minaj.

And don’t forget “Where Them Girls At”, sung by Flo Rida and, once again, Nicki Minaj.  You may also remember old hits like “Sexy Chick”, sung by Akon, and “When Love Takes Over”, sung by Kelly Rowland.

What do all these songs have in common?

You guessed it, they’re all by superstar DJ and producer David Guetta.

But do you know what country David Guetta is really from?

That’s right, he’s French!

Nothing but the Beat, Guetta's latest album

Guetta started out as a DJ in an a club named the Broad Club.  But from humble beginnings arose a superstar, selling over 3 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide.

Guetta has also won or been nominated for many awards, including winning a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for “When Love Takes Over” with Kelly Rowland.

Guetta also has made some video game appearances too.  In DJ Hero, he has a downloadable mix pack that features “Sexy Chick” featuring Akon, “When Love Takes Over” featuring Kelly Rowland and “On the Dance Floor” featuring will.i.am and apl.de.ap.  In DJ Hero 2 he has his own mega mix with four mixes mashed together and he’s even a playable character.
